Nax is a small municipality in canton of Valais in Switzerland. It is located in the Val d'Hérens on the south bank of the Rhône. It is also called the Balcony of Heaven because of its exceptional scenery. On September 7, 2008, citizens of the town accept the proposed merger with the municipalities of Mase Vernamiège. After acceptance by the Grand Council of Valais, the new town named Mont-Noble, will be launched on 1 January 2011.
